Edward Rawson, COO of the MLK Community Mural Project, recently accepted a group Fulbright-Hays Grant, with partners at the University of Pittsburgh Latin American Studies department, the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, and the MAC Museum in Niteroi Brasil. The grant, called "Art and Society" was to focus on art and culture between United States and Brazil.
While in Brazil Edward created an MLK Community Mural in Morro do Palacio Favela, Niteroi, with a group of local youths and community leaders. The MAC Museum helped to facilitate the mural through its community outreach building called the MAChinho. It was an amazing experience, and once again MLK is spreading the movement, this time internationally.
